Library & Resource Room
When children learn to love books, it increases the likelihood that they will read proficiently which in turn leads to a world of experiences. They can travel through books to places mentally that they may never experience through the physical eye. It opens a whole new world of possibilities.
Here at NICL we have a collection of books that can spread the joy of reading. The library is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m. . Students, teachers, parents, and visitors are welcome throughout the day. There is important reference material for reports in all subjects, data on current and past world history, videos, film strips, DVDs, CDs, educational table games and other materials that are essential for advance learning.
Mr. Oyibo is an important instructional partner with class room instructors. He is supportive in expanding existing curriculum. He works with teachers to change what is possible in the classroom and support exciting learning opportunities with books, computer resources, and more.
Across the United States, research has shown that students in schools with good school libraries learn more, get better grades, and score higher on standardized test scores than their peers in schools without libraries. We will continue to improve and expand our resources as funds become available.
Our annual Book Fair fundraiser is another great way to support the library. The Book Fair Committee, comprised of students, and the librarian, plans this event each year. Volunteers help with setting up the Fair during the event.
